The Climate Tech Impact platform helps climate tech startups measure, validate, and report their environmental impact using standardised, sector-specific assessment tools tailored to their business models. It enables ventures to quantify indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions avoided, waste diverted, and water saved, generating credible, comparable impact data for investor pitches, portfolio reporting, and grant applications.

This platform is designed for climate tech startups measuring and reporting their own impact, investors tracking impact across their portfolio, and ecosystem support organizations (accelerators, incubators, foundations) reporting on their cohorts and programs.

Most climate impact tools focus primarily on measuring a company's gross greenhouse gas emissions and how much it emits through its own operations or value chain. This number does not tell you whether a climate solution is creating a positive impact. It needs to be interpreted against an appropriate sector or baseline.

The Climate Tech Impact assessment takes a different approach. It measures the emissions avoided or removed by the solution relative to the conventional solution it replaces, using a defined functional unit and baseline. This helps show not just the company's footprint, but the climate impact enabled by its solution compared with the alternative it is displacing.

Assessments are based on the Handprint Methodology. This is a recognized approach for quantifying the positive environmental impact a product, service, or intervention creates compared to a credible baseline. This is supported by established frameworks including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the GHG Protocol, and other internationally recognized standards where applicable.

Impact numbers are calculated using publicly available standards, peer-reviewed literature, government databases, and accepted emission factors, adapted to each startup's business model while keeping the methodology transparent and consistent. Every assessment documents its scope, boundaries, assumptions, and data sources, so results can be reviewed rather than taken on faith.
